Charlotte Leslie McIntyre (known as “Lotte”) - WW1 Nurse: 100 Years of WW1 Commemoration continues...

Charlotte Leslie McIntyre (known as “Lotte”) 22/248 – NZ Army Nursing Services Corp: Born in 1887, Lotte was one of 4 members of her family who actively participated in serving her country in WW1. She grew up at Thornbury, Western Southland, and was the daughter of John & Catherine (nee Bath) McIntyre of “Rothiemurchus”. Her brothers Charles and Ernie, plus her sister Kate, also actively served for NZ in WW1. Lotte trained at the Dunedin Hospital. She served a total of 2 years and 190 days with the Nursing Service, attaining the position of Staff Nurse, and working at the NZ Hospital, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, England. A long time ago, in a galaxy far away… (well, earlier this year actually!) the 'old' Otautau Museum Blog posted about the McIntyre brothers Charlie & Ernie and their roles in WW1, for our 100 years of WW1 Commemoration. Then, a computer crash and the blog login was lost, as it had been set up by a previous person at the museum. So, I’ve now resurrected the WW1 Commemoration blog at a new address, and once again continue the McIntyre Family story where I left off sometime earlier: Catherine Agnes McIntyre (known as “KATE”) 22/210 – NZ Army Nursing Services Corp: Born in 1883, Kate was one of 4 members of her family who actively participated in serving her country in WW1.
